The self-proclaimed hierarchy of officer wives. It's completely insulting. Do you know are actually guidelines for being "a good army wife". Reminder: I did not join the army, my husband did. They actually suggest, when a problem arises, consulting the commander's wife before making a decision. Yea, I might do that if I was a total twit incapable of producing my own thoughts and ideas!
Except the total truth is, this is not at all what I hate the most about being an army wife. What I hate the most is that my husband is gone for 15 months and I miss him so much I could die. It's having to invade people's homes and live other people's lives for the next year. To have found someone you want to spend all your time with and be forced to forfeit that time during what could be some of better, and let's face it, better-looking, years of my life!!
If I hear one more freakin' person say "Let's wait to hear what General Paetraus has to say at the end of the month" I'm going to scream- which in fact I do every time. We all KNOW what he is going to say. Let's consider who he WORKS for... he HAS to be a Yes Man! It's his job to give his boss the report he wants- no matter how information has to be bent to form that opinion. You could convince people of anything if you give the right information- or more importantly OMIT the right information.
Just another rant.... I've had the wind knocked out of me, but I'll be back.
